Vaccinations for Puppies and Kittens

By Dr. Kris Kane | Nov 27, 2009

Today I wanted to discuss vaccinations for puppies and kittens.

We vaccinate puppies and kittens every three weeks until they are four months of age. It’s a common misconception that puppies and kittens need a certain number of vaccines. The important thing is to keep them covered by vaccination between the ages of eight weeks and sixteen weeks because we’re not sure at which point each individual animal can maintain immunity for a full year. So to keep them covered during that time, we do that booster every three weeks.

So no matter what age your pet is, you can bring them in to get them started on a protocol that will tailor specifically for them and make sure that they can maintain a long term immunity by the time they are four months old.

Thank you for joining me on the Pet Doctor Blog.
